Overview

The GP1800R SVHO is the world’s #1 race ski and this dominance is set to continue on the the race circuit and waterways in 2022.
We have worked with the world’s leading pros to take the GP1800R to the next level, including race ready tilt-adjustable exposed handle bars, race designed intake grate and jet pump for enhanced acceleration and a narrow seat profile for improved rider knee grip and ergonomics.

This craft not only looks muscular but has the performance characteristics to suit. The

2022 GP1800R SVHO comes with an industry-first automatic trim system with Cornering Control and Launch Control, bringing new levels of handling and performance to racers and recreational riders alike. When engaged, Cornering Control automatically shifts the trim into the bow down position when decelerating for tighter cornering and a racy feel. Launch Control automatically shifts the trim down to prevent bow rise when accelerating quickly.
Combine this with Yamaha’s patented NanoXcel2 hull, the 2022 GP1800R SVHO delivers an extremely nimble, agile and racy ride.

New for 2022 is the introduction of built-in 4.3 inch Bluetooth enabled marines speakers and the choice of two model colours – cyan or black with stealth grey.

Features

1.8L Supercharged SVHO Engine, 160mm pump

Yamaha’s four-cylinder, four-stroke, 1822cc, Super Vortex High Output (SVHO) marine engine delivers more power and torque than any WaveRunner in Yamaha’s range. Combined with a large 160mm hyper-flow jet pump and efficient intake, this engine produces 20% more power than its predecessor.

Hull Performance

The race designed intake grate and jet pump allows less turbulent water to flow through the jet pump. The result is better acceleration and less cavitation in choppy water conditions.

Auto Trim

An industry-first auto trim function includes Cornering Control, which automatically shifts the trim into the bow down position when decelerating for tighter cornering and a racy feel, and Launch Control, which automatically shifts the trim down to prevent bow rise when accelerating quickly.

All-New Built-In Speakers

All GP1800R models come with Yamaha’s factory-installed, custom integrated Bluetooth marine audio system, which includes twin, powerful 4.5-inch fully waterproof marine speakers, integrated 2 channel (50 watts per channel) amplifier, easy access control pad and an integrated low-voltage regulator to protect the battery.

4.3" Connext® Helm Control

All GP1800R models come with Yamaha’s 4.3” Connext® helm control with a multi-color LCD display. An easily accessible touchpad control provides convenient access to the many functions including a PIN code security system and DRIVE® Control that allows the owner to set top speed increments and acceleration settings from normal to slow.

Adaptable Steering System

Working closely with our pro riders we developed tilt-adjustable race-inspired, motocross style handlebars. You can keep them low for tight circuits or high for stand up and long distance riding.

Race-Ready Deck Design

The deck design provides improved ergonomics with deep and wide self-draining footwells, plus a narrow seat profile delivers improved knee and foot grip, and enhanced rider comfort.

WaveRunner Advantage

Not all personal watercraft are created equal. Find out why Yamaha WaveRunners continue to lead the personal watercraft industry when it comes to legendary reliability, quality, durability and resale value.

The multi-mount system positioned in front of the handlebars allows the rider to set up their own customised third-party devices such as action cameras, GPS, fish finder, phone or portable speakers.

Competition Steering and Handlebars

Our pro racers asked for it and we delivered! The exposed race style handle bars not only look fantastic, but offer four tilt-adjustable positions to suit every racing, stand-up and sit-down riding styles.

Ultra-Lightweight NanoXcel2

Yamaha's cutting-edge NanoXcel2® ultra-lightweight hulls and decks are 18% lighter than the original NanoXcel®. This advanced material compound delivers exceptional performance properties resulting in significant improvements in acceleration, top-end speed, fuel economy, and handling.

Narrow and Deeper Ergonomics

The upper deck design delivers great rider ergonomics with deep and wide footwells, and a narrow seat design for better knee grip and overall comfort, especially when cornering.

Self Draining Footwells

The self-draining footwells prevent water pooling, including while in storage. *Previous year model shown.

RiDE Dual Control System

Yamaha’s patented RiDEis the world's first dual throttle handlebar control system, that makes handling easy, fun and intuitive. Pull the right lever to accelerate and the left lever to decelerate and reverse. Release both levers for neutral. Pull them both, or in any combination, and the system reacts with precise control. *Previous year model shown

Three Person Sport Seat

The narrower race inspired two-piece, two-tone seat is ergonomically designed, textured and bolstered for grip, speed and comfort, suitable for recreational riding and racing. The seat comfortably seats three people. Separation of the front and rear sections makes maintenance and access to under-seat storage easy.

Large Rear Platform

Roomy and comfortable, the large rear platform is the ideal place for soaking up the surroundings, getting in and out of the water or simply doing nothing at all. The decking platform is fitted with custom cut Hydro-Turf mats for optimum looks, grip and comfort.

Tow Hook

The strong tow hook allows the craft to securely tow an inflatable tube, wake boarder or skier for additional on-water thrills and spills. *Previous year model shown

Large Storage Capacity

The bow, glovebox, and under seat storage capacity has increased by 15% from the previous generation model, providing 107 litres of useable space.
